Your wedding day is a big day! Many things go into planning and carrying out the wedding ceremony...catering, music, flowers, etc. You want to be confident you have trusted and dependable people making sure all the parts of the day are running smoothly. You especially want to make sure the person you choose to officiate your wedding is experienced, reliable, honorable, personable, and communicative.
 

The actual main duty of a wedding officiant is to make your wedding official by fulfilling the requirements set forth by the marriage laws in the state in which you are being married. This includes witnessing you as a couple deliberately give your consent to the marriage, signing the marriage license, and filing the completed marriage license with the state. Those responsibilities are definitely important, and you need your officiant to make sure they happen, but you also want someone who is caring, understanding, calm...and fun! 
 

My basic approach to officiating weddings is:

• As an ordained minister, my ceremonies are from a Christian perspective, but not overly religious and can be adapted and customized to suit your needs

• To provide a personal and intimate ceremony

• To assist couples in crafting the ceremony they want

• Being time sensitive – not too long, and not too short

• Making sure the marriage license is complete and filed with the state

• Being a reassuring, calming, and spiritual presence for the couple and family before, during, and after the ceremony
